This is an amazing opportunity for Cameron Parish residents interested in getting involved in upcoming construction work who have not previously worked in the construction industry or who need the certifications to further their careers.

The only requirements for an individual to sign up and complete the free training (all expenses are covered by Venture Global) are to be a Cameron Parish resident, be a high school graduate, and attend the informational session on Monday, July 21, at Grand Lake Elementary School from 6-7:30 p.m. Come early, there are 15 slots available for this cohort.

The Intro to Construction with Forklift Certification classes will be held at SOWELA’s main campus in Lake Charles from Aug. 26 through Sept. 25 on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5 to 9 p.m. This 5-week course includes OSHA, NCCER Core and Forklift certifications.
