Board of Commissioners Meeting
April 16, 2025
Meeting called to order at 4 p.m. by Chairperson, Mary D. Booth.
Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer were led by Mrs. Booth.
Board Roll call: Present – Mary Booth, Kevin Vincent, Logan Manuel.
Mrs. Booth read the agenda aloud. Mr. Manuel motioned to add a resolution to authorize Director, Byron Broussard to execute the paperwork to sell the surplus ambulance to bid winner, West Cal-Cam Hospital Service District, to the agenda. Seconded by Mr. Vincent. None opposed. Motion carried.
Mr. Manual motioned to approve the minutes from the last meeting, February 20, 2025. Second by Mr. Vincent. None opposed. Motion carried.
Director, Byron Broussard presented the director’s report for February & March 2025 which included, call volume reports, payments received on accounts, expense reports, cash asset report, and tax revenues received. Expense reports were reviewed and signed by each present member. A balance sheet was presented and reviewed.
Mr. Vincent motioned to accept the director’s report. Second by Mr. Manuel. None opposed. Motion carried.
Mr. Broussard presented the bid results for the sale of the surplus ambulance. Four bids were submitted. The winning bid of $50,000. was submitted by West Cal-Cam Hospital Service District. A resolution was adopted to allow Mr. Broussard to execute the documents to transfer the ambulance to the new owner. It was passed by a unanimous vote.
Mr. Manuel motioned to submit a payment for two new ambulance chassis, at $47,000 each to Excellance, Inc. The chassis shall be used for the manufacturing of two new type III ambulance units. Second by Mr. Vincent. None opposed. Motion carried.
A Resolution to adopt the Ad Valorum Tax Millages for the tax year 2025 was presented and adopted as follows:

BE IT RESOLVED, that the following millage is hereby levied on the 2025 tax roll on the property subject to taxation by the LOWER CAMERON PARISH AMBULANCE SERVICE DISTRICT.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper administrative officials of the Parish of Cameron, State of Louisiana, be and they are hereby empowered, authorized and directed to spread said taxes, as hereinabove set forth, upon the assessment roll of said Parish for the year 2025, and to make the collection of the taxes imposed for and on behalf of the taxing authority, according to law, and that the taxes herein levied shall become a permanent lien and privilege on all property subject to taxation as herein set forth, and the collection thereof shall be enforceable in the manner provided by law.
The foregoing resolution was read in full, the roll was called on the adoption thereof, and the resolution was adopted by the following votes:
