Lower Cameron Ambulance Service District
Board of Commissioners Meeting
February 20, 2025
Meeting called to order at 4 p.m. by Chairperson, Mary D. Booth.
Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer were led by Mrs. Booth.
Board Roll call: Present – Mary Booth, Kevin Vincent, Logan Manuel.
Mrs. Booth read the agenda aloud. Mr. Manuel motioned to add Grand Chenier station cargo lift and generator to the agenda. Seconded by Mr. Vincent. None opposed. Motion carried.
Mr. Vincent motioned to approve the minutes from the last meeting, November 27, 2024. Second by Mr. Manuel. None opposed. Motion carried.
Director, Byron Broussard presented the director’s report for November, December 2024 and January 2025 which included, call volume reports, payments received on accounts, expense reports, cash asset report, and tax revenues received. Expense reports were reviewed and signed by each present member. An account adjustment report was presented and signed by the meeting chairperson. A balance sheet was presented and reviewed.
Mr. Vincent motioned to deposit $1.5 million of the tax revenue, currently in the district’s general checking account, into the LAMP account, in order to increase interest earnings. Second by Mr. Manuel. None opposed. Motion carried.
Mr. Vincent motioned to accept the director’s report. Second by Mr. Manuel. None opposed. Motion carried.
The board discussed offers received to purchase the district’s two properties located in Cameron. Mr. Manuel motioned to table the matter until the possible future uses for the property are determined.
Mr. Manuel motioned to deem the 2009 Excellance Chevrolet ambulance, a surplus item and to advertise for bids to sell the vehicle. A minimum bid was set at $15,000. Second by Mr. Vincent. None opposed. Motion carried.
Mr. Vincent motioned to pursue purchasing a cargo lift and whole home generator for the Grand Chenier station. Mr. Broussard will get quotes and present this information at the next meeting.
Mr. Vincent motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Mr. Manuel. None opposed. Meeting adjourned.
