PROCEEDINGS
The Cameron Parish Waterworks District No. 10 met in regular session at the Waterworks office located at 6246 Gulf Beach Hwy. in Johnson Bayou on April 7, 2025, at 5:00p.m. Members present by roll call were Connie Trahan, Kent Carlson, Bobbie Trahan, Nathan Griffith, and Mark Young. Members absent were none. Employees attending were Rhonda Morrison and Carl Trahan. The guests attending were Morgan Dawson and Shannon Hebert.
It was moved by Nathan Griffith to call the meeting to order.
The pledge was said by all present and the prayer was led by Nathan Griffith.
A Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comment was given.
It was moved by Connie Trahan, seconded by Bobbie Trahan, and carried to accept the March minutes as read.
Fire Hydrant repairs were discussed. An agreement will be presented to the Fire District No. 10 Board of Directors for acceptance on cost share of fire hydrant repairs and maintenance payable in the future.
It was moved by Connie Trahan to adopt the 2025 millage rates of 4.180. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Kent Carlson and carried with the following votes:
Yeas: Nathan Griffith, Mark Young, Kent Carlson, Connie Trahan, and Bobbie Trahan.
Nays: None
Abstained: None
Absent: None.
It was moved by Mark Young to have a cost share agreement drawn up with Hackberry Waterworks to replace the shared meter at the treatment site with a 4” meter to facilitate emergency water transfers between the two systems when necessary. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Kent Carlson and carried.
It was moved by Connie Trahan, seconded by Mark Young, and carried to go into executive session to interview 2 applicants for the full-time secretary position. The vote thereon was as follows: Yeas: Nathan Griffith, Mark Young, Connie Trahan, Bobbie Trahan, and Kent Carlson.

The president called the meeting back to order and returned to regular session.
It was moved by Bobbie Trahan to hire Shannon Hebert for the full-time secretary position. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Mark Young and carried.
It was moved by Mark Young to offer Shannon Hebert $16.00 an hour as her beginning wage and evaluate in 6 months. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Kent Carlson and carried.
It was moved by Bobbie Trahan, seconded by Connie Trahan, and carried to approve the bank statements and the Actual vs. Budget report for the month ending March 2025.
It was moved by Connie Trahan, seconded by Bobbie Trahan, and carried to approve the bills as paid.
