Proceedings
The Board of Commissioners of the Consolidated Fire Protection District of South Cameron held a meeting in regular session on September 26th, 2024, 4:30 pm at the Creole Fire Station located at 184B East Creole Hwy Creole, LA 70632
Kevin Vincent called the meeting to order at 4:45 pm
Pledge was led by Kevin Vincent
Members present were Armand Richard VI, Kevin Vincent, Susie Fawvor, and James Boudreaux.
Guest present were Police Juror Mark Daigle
There was no public comment.
It was moved by James Boudreaux, seconded by Susie Fawvor and unanimously approved to add the items listed below to the agenda.
1. SCFD Fund Spending
2. SCFD Generators
Upon motion by James Boudreaux, seconded by Armand Richard VI, and carried the financial reports received from the Cameron Parish Police Jury Accounting was approved.
Upon motion by James Boudreaux, seconded by Susie Fawvor, and carried to dispense the reading and approve the minutes from the previous meeting.
Old Business:
Muria Fire Station – The board discussed the rebuilding of the Muria Fire Station and chose to have the administration of South Cameron Fire and a few board members attend a meeting with District Attorney Tom Barrett.
Bids of Surplus Fire Trucks – Four bids for the surplus fire trucks were received. Three of those bids being ineligible and rejected by the board due to not meeting minimum bid requirements.
On a motion by James Boudreaux, seconded by Armand Richard VI, and carried to accept the one eligible bid from Stanley Faul in the amount of $500 for surplus vehicle (GMC Pumper Vin # TCE666V557127) and to send the remaining surplus vehicles to Guinn Auctions.
New Business:
Upon motion by James Boudreaux, seconded by Susie Fawvor, and carried to give permission to the South Cameron Fire Department Administration to draft a resolution, resolving the issue of funds being spent out of South Cameron Fire Department accounts without permission from Chief Dupont, SCFD Board, or the sitting Police Juror men.
Upon Motion by Armand Richard VI, seconded by James Boudreaux, and carried to table the decision on whether SCFD will take over the operations of their generators.
Chief Dupont gave the board his update on PIAL and the Venture Global MOU.
Upon motion by Armand Richard VI, seconded by Susie Fawvor, and carried to adjourn the meeting.
