The Hackberry Fire Protection District 1 Board met for a regular session at the Hackberry Fire Station located at the 1025 Main Street on Monday April 15, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. Members presents by roll call were Mr. Curtis Fountain, Mr. Gerald Landry, Mr. Butch Little, Mr. Robert Silvers, and Mr. Thad Little. Police Juror, Mr. Michael Fewel was present along with District members Chief Mark Granger, Assistant Chief Brad Lester, Assistant Chief Clint Welch, Member Glenn Welch, and employee Destiny Seay. No guest attended.
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gerald Landry. The Pledge and Prayer was led by Mr. Curtis Fountain. On motion from Mr. Butch Little, seconded by Mr. Gerald Landry and carried unanimously, the minutes from March 18, 2024, were dismissed.
Monthly financial reports for the month of February were given by Destiny Seay.
Under old business, Chief Granger reviewed the status of projects for the district: 1. Scopes of work for contract repairs on the fire station. 2. The status and options for the new fire engine replacement which are on hold. 3. Clearing of the land behind the fire department. 4. The Hydrant testing for PIAL was finished and the map is completed. 5. The Automatic Aid Agreement for structural fires.
Under new business the following was discussed:
1. Chief Granger spoke about the response run report along with the FDIC fire training.
2. On motion from Gerald Landry, seconded by Robert Silvers and carried unanimously, a price increase for uniform shirts was approved.
3. Ladder testing that was done.
4. Getting new tires for the fire trucks.
5. Getting the old fire work truck into the paper.
There being no further business, on motion of Mr. Silvers, seconded by Mr. Butch Little and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
