The Cameron Parish Waterworks District No. 10 met in regular session at the Waterworks office located at 6246 Gulf Beach Hwy. in Johnson Bayou on April 8, 2024, at 5:00p.m. Members present by roll call were Mark Young, Connie Trahan, Kent Carlson, Bobbie Trahan, and Nathan Griffith. Employees attending were Rhonda Morrison, Carl Trahan, and Aaron Jinks. The guest attending was Police Juror Sonny McGee.
It was moved by Nathan Griffith to call the meeting to order.
The pledge was said by all present and the prayer was led by Connie Trahan.
A Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comment was given.
It was moved by Connie Trahan, seconded by Kent Carlson, and carried to accept March minutes as read.
The new well location was discussed. An update will be given on the progress at the May meeting.
The 2024 rate study performed by LRWA was presented. It was moved by Mark Young to take no action on an increase in water rates due to the current operating sustainability factor being above the recommended sustainability factor. No comment was given. The motion was seconded by Kent Carlson and carried.
Rhonda presented the only quote received from Southern Janicorp for stripping and rewaxing office building floors. It was moved by Connie Trahan to accept said quote. No comment was given. The motion was seconded by Kent Carlson and carried.
Rhonda presented a quote from Lakeside Construction on adding bull rock to the current fill dirt contract at the newly acquired Holly Beach property to prevent dirt runoff. It was moved by Kent Carlson to accept the quote. No comment was given. The motion was seconded by Mark Young and carried.
The Board reviewed the six applications for the Secretary position. No action was taken. The applications will be reviewed at the May meeting.
It was moved by Bobbie Trahan, seconded by Connie Trahan, and carried to approve the bank statements and the Actual vs. Budget report for the month ending March 2024.
It was moved by Bobbie Trahan, seconded by Mark Young, and carried to approve the bills as paid.
