DISTRICT BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS
The Board of Commissioners of Lower Cameron Hospital Service District met in Regular Session Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at the Cameron Parish District Attorney’s office, in Cameron, Louisiana. Members present were Chairman Stephanie Rodrigue, Vice-Chairman Mary Canik, Vickie Kiffe, and Shawn Bonsall. Member absent was Tredale Boudreaux.
The meeting was called to order by Stephanie Rodrigue, Chairman. A quorum was determined. There were no public comments.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the agenda was unanimously approved.
A quorum was not present at the June 29, 2023 meeting.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Mary Canik, the Board of Commissioners of the Lower Cameron Hospital Service District unanimously authorized the Chairman of the Board to sign a Letter of Engagement for Certified Public Accounting Firm for fiscal Year 2022.
A report of Hospital Progress to date from Architectural and Engineering Service Firm, Hoffpauir-WHLC was reviewed by the board members. The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Lower Cameron Hospital Service District, Stephanie Rodrigue, reiterated the State has not approved policies and procedures for establishment and/or construction of stand-alone rural emergency hospitals, at this time.
Upon motion by Mary Canik, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the Board of Commissioners authorized Secretary/Treasurer to pay recurring invoices for SCMH Clinic and Hospital Renovations/Repairs/Rebuild, Cameron Parish Pilot, Bayou Services, Reliable Documents, Cameron Waterworks #7, and contracted services with ratification of all at the following meeting.
Upon motion by Vickie Kiffe, seconded by Mary Canik the meeting dates for the remainder of the year were approved as follows: August 15, September 12, October 24, November 21, and December 19, 2023. All meetings remain at 4:00 pm, at the Cameron Parish District Attorney’s office, the official temporary meeting location.
Upon motion by Vickie Kiffe, seconded by Shawn Bonsall, the Financial Report and Payment of Bills were unanimously approved.
It was noted that the next regular meeting was previously scheduled for Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 4:00 pm at the Cameron Parish District Attorney’s Office, in Cameron, Louisiana.
There was no further business, and the meeting was adjourned at 2:54 pm.
