The Cameron Parish Water and Wastewater District No. 1 Board met in regular session on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. in the water district office located at 126 Ann Street in the town of Cameron, Louisiana.
Guest: Tom Barrett, District Attorney
President Chris Mooney called the meeting to order.
The Pledge was led by Chris Mooney and the voluntary Prayer was led by Chris Mooney
Roll Call: Present: Chris Mooney, Tammy Peshoff, Kathy Guthrie, and Cecil Clark III
Absent: Fred Sanders
On a motion by Kathy Guthrie, seconded by Cecil Clark III and carried, to add Tom Barrett, District Attorney to agenda to give update on insurance.
On a motion by Kathy Guthrie, seconded by Cecil Clark III and carried, to approve and dispense from reading the regular session March 2022 minutes.
On a motion by Tammy Peshoff, seconded by Kathy Guthrie and carried, to approve the financial statement for the month of March.
On a motion by Cecil Clark III, seconded by Kathy Guthrie and carried, that the bills for the month of March 2022 be paid.
On a motion by Tammy Peshoff, seconded by Kathy Guthrie and carried, to table Coastal Cans and Gulf Waste annual contract negotiation until May 24, 2022 board meeting.
On a motion by Tammy Peshoff, seconded by Kathy Guthrie and carried, to complete, approve and sign the Louisiana Compliance Questionnaire for auditor, Coy Vincent of Gragson, Casiday and Guillory, LLP.
On a motion by Kathy Guthrie, seconded by Tammy Peshoff and carried, to sign and return Engagement Letter for the audit ending December 31, 2021, by Coy Vincent of Gragson, Casiday and Guillory, LLP.
On a motion by Kathy Guthrie, seconded by Tammy Peshoff and carried, to adopt Tax Millage rates for the 2022 tax millage at the same rate 7.41 mills. Vote Count: 4 yeas, 0 nays, 1 absent, 0 abstained. The yeas consist of Chris Mooney, Tammy Peshoff, Kathy Guthrie and Cecil Clark III, with Fred Sanders being absent.
On a motion by Tammy Peshoff, seconded by Kathy Guthrie and carried, to accept the bid from Hawkins Inc. to supply chlorine and phosphates for a semi-annual contract.
On a motion by Tammy Peshoff, seconded by Kathy Guthrie and carried, to table the consolidation of district grant signage until after the Cameron Parish Police Jury May 12, 2022 public meeting, and revisited at our May 24, 2022 board meeting.
On a motion by Tammy Peshoff, seconded by Kathy Guthrie and carried, to purchase the Excavator brush mower attachment.
On a motion by Tammy Peshoff, seconded by Kathy Guthrie and carried, there being no further business, the meeting stands adjourned.
