Director, Byron Broussard presented the director’s report for May through October which included, call volume reports, payments received on accounts, expense reports, cash asset report, and tax revenues received. A balance sheet was presented and reviewed. Expense reports were reviewed and signed by each present member. An account adjustment report was presented and signed by the meeting chairperson. Mr. Broussard asked the board for an opinion on mandating Covid 19 vaccines for employees. The board consensus is that the district will follow the mandates imposed by Medicare, for facilities who accept Medicare payments, as they are issued.
Mr. Broussard reported on the purchases of a vehicle to replace the Chevrolet Tahoe SUV and a new ambulance.
He stated that he searched the Louisiana Office of Procurement site for available vehicles and contacted dealerships known to have state contract vehicles. He found that there are no vehicles available for purchase through that process and no date for availability was known. He contacted several dealerships in southwest Louisiana to inquire about availability of new pickup trucks. He was advised by several dealers that these vehicles are in short supply. They are often sold before they arrive on their lots and salesmen from around the state can sell any vehicle, on any lot, once they are put into inventory. Mr. Broussard obtained quotes from several dealerships. All of which had only one vehicle comparable to the needs of the district. Navarre Chevrolet provided the lowest bid for the vehicle, $46,511.75, and agreed to hold the vehicle until noon the following day. Mr. Broussard presented the invoice and will purchase the vehicle the following morning. He will prepare a Request for Proposal for a new Type III ambulance and advertise that request.
Mr. Broussard updated the board on Hurricane Laura supplemental insurance settlements received and the repair work that has been done thus far.
Mrs. Kiffe motioned to approve and accept the director’s report. Second by Ms. Mooney. None Opposed. Motion carried.
Mrs. Kiffe motioned to adjourn the meeting. Second by Ms. Mooney. None opposed. Meeting adjourned.
