PROCEEDINGS
The Board of Commissioners of Lower Cameron Hospital Service District met in a Regular Session on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., at the Cameron Parish District Attorney’s office, in Cameron, Louisiana. Members present were Chairman Stephanie Rodrigue, Vice-Chairman Mary Canik, Tredale Boudreaux, Shawn Bonsall, Vickie Kiffe, Michelle Trahan, and Sheila Miller. In attendance as a guest was Scott Trahan.
The meeting was called to order by Stephanie Rodrigue, Chairman. A quorum was determined.
Upon motion by Sheila Miller, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the agenda was unanimously approved.
There were no public comments.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the Minutes of the May 21, 2024, Regular Meeting were unanimously approved.
The Board of Commissioners received an update on FEMA projects for South Cameron Memorial Hospital from Wendall Piper, Project Manager for HGA, FEMA Grant Consultant to Cameron Parish Police Jury.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Tredale Boudreaux, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the request from Thomas McDaniel, lessee of Lower Cameron Hospital Service District property located at 721 Wakefield Road, Cameron Louisiana, to install a sewer system on the property, as required by the Louisiana Office of Public Health.
The Board of Commissioners received an update on the delivery of the TESCO Mobile Medical Unit by Chairman Stephanie Rodrigue. The Mobile Medical Unit will be located on the South Cameron Memorial Hospital property located at 5360 W. Creole Highway, Cameron. The target date for the Medical Unit to be staffed is August 1, 2024.
The Board of Commissioner also received information from the Cameron Parish Hurricane Preparedness Meeting as it applies to the South Cameron Memorial Hospital Primary Care Clinic by Stephanie Rodrigue, Chairman.
Upon motion by Sheila Miller, seconded by Michelle Trahan, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the transfer of funds from the South Cameron Memorial Hospital Foundation account to the general operations account and closure of the Foundation account.
Upon motion by Mary Canik, seconded by Sheila Miller, the Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted the 2024 Millage Rate of 16.130 and authorized Board Chairman Stephanie Rodrigue to execute the Resolution and Affidavit.
Upon motion by Sheila Miller, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved financial reports and bank statements.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Sheila Miller, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved all bills to be paid.
It was noted that the next regular meeting was previously scheduled for Tuesday, July 30th, at 4:00 p.m. at the Cameron Parish District Attorney’s Office, in Cameron, Louisiana. There was no further business, and the meeting was adjourned.

RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED, that the following millage(s) are hereby levied on the 2024 tax roll on all property subject to taxation by Lower Cameron Hospital Service District:
MILLAGE
Lower Cameron Hospital Service District 16.130 mills
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper administrative officials of the Parish of Cameron, State of Louisiana, be and they are hereby empowered, authorized, and directed to spread said taxes, as hereinabove set forth, upon the assessment roll of said Parish for the year 2024, and to make the collection of the taxes imposed for and on behalf of the taxing authority, according to law, and that the taxes herein levied shall become a permanent lien and privilege on all property subject to taxation as herein set forth, and collection thereof shall be enforceable in the manner provided by law.
The foregoing resolution was read in full, the roll was called on the adoption thereof, and the resolution was adopted by the following votes:
