Frank Quick

Frank W. (Gums) Quick passed away on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 while in Pennsylvania. He was a longtime resident of Cameron Parish.

He is survived by his two brothers, James and Larry; four sisters, Donna, Sandra, Patricia, Shirley, two sons, Frank Jr. and Jules D.; two grandsons, Frankie and Karter; on granddaughter, Braleigh; his significant other, Carla Subler; three step children, Colleen (Joe) Barry, Siobhan (Nic) Nunez, Trevor (Danielle) Howard; and seven step grandchildren, Aidan Barry, Evelyn and Tristan Howard, Erykka, Arryana, Nicolas and Brayden Nunez.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes; and father, Donald.

Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Fireman's Hall in Grand Lake from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Joseph East

Joseph “Joe” Martin East, 78, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, in a local hospital.

He was raised and baptized in the Catholic faith. He was captain of “The Christy” tugboat out of Hackberry for 48 years.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Simon East; three daughters, Sharon (Johnny) Jasek, Pam (Tommy) Washington and Beverly (Kenny) Fowler, all of LaGrange, Texas; two stepdaughters, Carol Hanks of Vinton and Sherry (Edward) Mason of Sulphur; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Leroy “Pic” East; one sister, Russie Stelly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Swire and Raymond East; one brother; two sisters; and one grandson, Justin Jasek.

A memorial service was held Friday, Dec. 28, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur with the Rev. Lionel J. Thierry Sr. officiating.
