Bernie Jinks

Bernie Jinks, 74, of Sulphur died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 surrounded by his family.

He retired after 40 years from Amoco as a pumper. He served in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his children, Kyle Jinks and wife Dena of Grant, Roni Ackley and husband Cory of Maryland and Stevie Jinks of Hackberry; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Derald “Binky” Jinks and Lester Jinks; and three sisters, Mona Burleigh, Lucinda Jinks and Bobbie Jo LeBlanc.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; his parents, Clifford and Sadie Jinks; and one sister.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 3, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hackberry. Burial followed at New Hackberry Cemetery.
