Douglas Smith

Douglas Edward Smith, 50, a resident of Lake Charles passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018.

He is survived by his daughter, Jasmine Guidry of Lake Charles; father, Edward Lee Smith and wife, Joy of DeQuincy; sister, Stephanie Richard and fiancé, Keith Smith of Lake Charles, niece, Daryan Richard and nephews, Dane Richard and wife, Hanna and Baron Jones.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Douglas Smith; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Dixie Jones and L.C. Smith and his maternal grandparents, George and Vara Douglas.

The family received friends on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9-10 a.m. with the service beginning at 10 a.m. The visitation and service were held at Riley Smith Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Alvin Dale Smith and Rev. Wayne Neyland officiated. Interment followed at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.

Alvin Hebert

Alvin Paul “Pookie” Hebert, 75, of Cameron died Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, in a hospital in Poplarville, Miss.

He was born in Erath, lived most his life in Cameron and lived the past three years in Poplarville, Miss. He was a retired Maritime Boat Captain, having worked primarily for Norman McCall.

Survivors include one son, Alvin James Hebert and wife Janet of Poplarville, Miss.; three daughters, Elizabeth Hebert Hollifield and husband, Mark, of Pace, Fla., Shannon Hebert Williams and husband, Jeff, of Florence, Ala., and Patrice Hebert Schmidt and husband, Craig, of LaPlace; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Presley Hebert of Winnie, Texas, and Allen Hebert of Humble, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Hebert and Lena Richard Authement; and three brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Cameron. Rev. Babasino Fernandes officiated. Interment followed in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Cemetery.

Kenneth Perrodin

Kenneth Jerry Perrodin, 69, of Hackberry, died on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Perrodin of Hackberry; daughter, Dawn Perrodin Nolen of Jennings; three grandchildren; sister, Lynn Delon; three brothers, Keith Perrodin, Terry Perrodin and Glynn Perrodin.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
